Chief Petty Officer William F. McBroom, 56, husband of the former Dorothy Brown of New Market and Crawfordsville, died last Friday in the Oakland Naval Hospital in California. He had been a patient there five weeks after suffering a heart attack aboard the USS Enterprise while the ship was docked at Alameda, Calif. A veteran of 28 years service, with the Navy, CPO McBroom is survived by his wife in addition to his mother and brother, who reside in Kansas. Services will be conducted Thursday in Jefferson Barracks Military Cemetery at St. Louis. – jlr
